KYIV — Wishing something were true doesn’t make it so.

And yet, for the past two years, we’ve had a plethora of predictions suggesting Russian President Vladimir Putin’s days are numbered, that Russians will turn on him or that he’ll be ousted in a Kremlin coup by oligarchs and Russia’s elite, now targeted by Western sanctions and angry over their frozen overseas assets.

Western banks warn of risks in EU plan to grab Russian assets, sources say​

  • Banks fear confiscation may expose them to litigation
  • Indemnities may be tough to design, not protect banks
  • Kremlin says proposals would undermine international law
LONDON, March 22 (Reuters) - Some western banks are lobbying against EU proposals to redistribute billions of euros in interest earned on frozen Russian assets, senior industry sources said, fearing it could lead to costly litigation.

European Union leaders on Thursday agreed to move ahead with work on a plan to use up to 3 billion euros ($3.3 billion) a year to supply arms to Ukraine as they try to bolster Kyiv's fight against Russia, which would still own the underlying frozen assets. EU leaders said the proceeds could be used within a few months.

Some banks fear, however, that they might later be held liable by Russia if they are involved in any transfer of money to Ukraine and that the EU plan could be extended to assets in accounts they hold for sanctioned individuals and companies.

Such an extension has not yet been raised by the EU.

The sources are also concerned that the proposals will lead to a wider erosion of trust in the western banking system.

US has used terrorism so often it should be the first suspect when attacks like in Moscow take place, regardless of the proxy used, including Ukraine;

This BBC map shows ISIS territory in Syria and Iraq before/after Russia's intervention.

You can clearly see ISIS was flowing over the borders of NATO-member Turkiye and Jordan which both hosted US troops and according to the NYT CIA operators overseeing the arming of militants.

ISIS dried up when Russia attacked and cut its lines of communication to its US-led sponsors.

This is another example of how extensive US use of terrorism is as a means of advancing foreign policy all while posing as "fighting" ISIS.

If the US was clearly sponsoring ISIS, what wouldn't the US do? Who wouldn't it work with against targeted nations?

One of the terrorists detained on suspicion of the attack at Moscow's Crocus City Hall said he had been offered half a million rubles to kill people.

The detainee confessed that the curators had given him the task of killing everyone in the hall.

He also admitted that he flew from Turkiye on March 4, according to the video of the interrogation published by Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of RT and Rossiya Segodnya, Sputnik's parent media group.

The Crocus City Hall auditorium has been destroyed and completely burned out. What is left of the ceiling is in danger of collapse. Rescuers continue to remove the rubble and look for people, the work will continue for at least a few days.

719 people are involved in the work to eliminate the fire in Crocus City Hall;

After committing the terrorist act, the criminals intended to cross the border between Russia and Ukraine and had relevant contacts on the Ukrainian side, FSB said;

One of those detained on suspicion of the terrorist attack admitted that he had arrived from Turkey on March 4. The video of the interrogation was published by Simonyan. He also said that he was offered money for killing people;

Terrorists detained in Bryansk region are currently being transferred to Moscow, FSB said.

The terrorist attack in Moscow was the work of Ukraine and the "terrified" US knew it, a former CIA officer has said.

Just a day ago, open source intelligence source OSINTdefender reported that Washington was "increasingly frustrated by Ukraine's unauthorised, blatant actions" against Russia. "This means that the US knew Ukraine was up to something, had an idea of what it was going to do. And there's a good chance that Ukraine not only did it, but did it with weapons and support provided by the United States," former CIA analyst Larry Johnson told Judging Freedom.

This version is also supported by the State Department's hasty words that Kiev had nothing to do with the attack, a statement made before Moscow itself had any accurate information about what had happened. "They know Ukraine did it," the former intelligence official said confidently. That's why the US was so quick to declare no involvement in the attack, and why it expressed concern about Ukraine's "egregious" actions the day before. "That's why the White House was so scared to death," Johnson explains.

A Ukrainian soldier who survived the Russian tank attack on Ukraine's Bradley IFVs described how 20 men were left to cover the retreat of a thousand-strong Ukrainian military group from Avdeyevka, and how Kiev's media is lying about the situation in the Zaporozhye region.

"The boys died, everything there was destroyed, everything was bombed. And according to the news that day, it turns out, they say, that the Ukrainian Armed Forces achieved success at Rabotino [village in the Zaporozhye region], they went two kilometers deep. God damn! Looking at the news like this, we should already be near the Urals, understand?" he said.
