Putin is on the brink of the abyss. He must not be allowed to take us down with him​

It is becoming increasingly clear why CIA Director John Ratcliffe made his extraordinary dash to Moscow on Tuesday. Credible intelligence, I am reliably informed, points to an increasingly desperate Vladimir Putin contemplating an attack on a European Nato country and, if that fails to frighten Europe into abandoning Ukraine, potentially the use of a tactical nuclear weapon against Ukraine itself.

For those who have watched this war from a distance, this may sound like a heart-stopping escalation. For those of us who have followed it closely, and particularly for Nato’s intelligence services, it is the grim reality of where Putin’s war has brought us after four and a half years of Western hesitation and Ukrainian battlefield innovation.

The extraordinary irony is that Russia, the supposed military giant, is increasingly being squeezed by the Ukrainian David. Ukraine has become the world leader in drone warfare, the alchemy of the modern battlefield, while the Russian Goliath is bleeding men, equipment and wealth.

Okay.
Russia has endured so many years of shit from the West. I don't blame them for defending their country.
Whatever country is named, they have bought their future.
I wish there was some way to get those countries to be peaceful.
But they seem intent on shooting their pop guns at a country that does not mean to shoot back.

I read that, too.

Don't recall the source; but IIRC there was serious noise (coming out of Hegmess's pie-hole, if I recall) about trying out Tactical Nukes, yes, on Iran.

Just in passing. There's so much crap flying, you have to take notes to keep it all straight...but it's been bandied about.

That was debunked as having no source other than MTG's opinion. Kind of like the Russian Dossier, or better yet Russian prostitutes giving Trump a 'golden shower'?

LOL "on the brink of the abyss" could they get more dramatic? Just reverse everything they're saying and you'll be closer to the truth.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova says British military facilities and equipment inside Ukraine AND BEYOND could become targets for Russian retaliation if Ukraine uses British weapons to strike Russian territory.

Moscow has also warned British citizens to consider what it calls the “inevitable catastrophic consequences” of their Government's actions.

This comes after Britain agreed to provide Ukraine with classified technical information concerning British components of Storm Shadow/SCALP long-range missiles to help Ukraine develop its own production capability.

This is not social-media speculation.

This is an official warning from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
