I don't doubt the capacity of government "researchers" (mind-control experimenters) to try such a thing.

But I'm calling bovine scat on this one.

Here's why: Twins are rare, of course; but a significant number of them are of separate eggs, just fertilized at the same ovulation cycle. They're no more alike than any other set of siblings - frequently they'e of different sexes.

Identical twins come from a single...what's the term, zygote? ...that as its first growth step, one cell to two, divides completely.

Triplets, IIRC (could be wrong here) are almost always of separate eggs. Likewise larger multiple births. Remember back in the 1970s, some pharma syndicates were marketing "fertility drugs" and women were conceiving quintuplets, or triplets, often unhealthy and with a large number of fatalities.

So I'd want more documentation on this story, not a dramatic reading.

Imagine being a student pilot and your instructor says, "you know what to do" and proceeds to unbuckle his harness and bail out of the plane sans parachute.

Here's a history lesson everyone should partake

What the Hell Happened to Blood, Sweat & Tears?

A political thriller about the first American rock band to perform behind the Iron Curtain, whose members find themselves in the crosshairs between the Right and the Left of a polarized America with severe career repercussions.

Now here's a girl who knows how to have a good time. Lol

Supposedly politically Left and politically Right people have different brains that can be seen on an MRI scan.

Vid is a demonstration of a study that uncovered this.

Link to actual study on the topic in the vids description.

One for @Casey Jones

Stupid kids being stupid.

Yeah...we had to deal with such idiocy all the time.

Not to the extent they have to, today, though. Back in the day, it was an OCCASIONAL thing. And not just children, either - koledge kidlets, or even adults, doing stupid things.

One couple were actually doing the nasty in the tracks, when the train rolled up (25 mph). The crew couldn't stop. The gentleman looked up, saw, and rolled off. The object of his affection, went off to a Better World - in several pieces.

That video is from Fairport, NY. Not far from Frontier Yard, but I never ran that stretch of mainline.

BUT...when trespassers are blocking the track...the crew has to act. And no, you don't recover train brakes the way you do a car or truck. It's reckless, in fact, to release brakes when slow-rolling like that...it's easy to tear the train apart, when the front releases, and the rear brakes have not, yet. It takes about a second a car to apply the brakes, and about five seconds a car to START releasing them. And the releasing action is slow.

Quicker to let the train stop and then kick them off. When you know you have a full release (telemetry-device will transmit rear brake pipe pressure) you can start moving again. Takes about 7-10 minutes.

The worst part of it, today, is, they now have inward-facing cameras and microphones. If you call those kids nasty names, and then one gets run over...you could be arrested for Aggravated Ray Sissm, or some such.

Welcome to the Digital Prison, Railroad Version.

In Mexico, when you get hit by the train it doesn't stop. Lol

From the looks of that "crossing", I'd think people get stuck on the tracks a lot.

Yeah...Ferromex.

Even out East, we used to get some of their run-through power. Even leading, occasionally...it surprised me that the gauges were in MPH and PSI, and not metric. (Canadian Pacific and CN, also, BTW). Spanish lettering, but the controls were the same.

Were. Not anymore..."Positive Train Control" and inward-facing cameras with sound are now required. Positive Train Control is a sort of GPS for railroads, showing location, and also signal aspect the train is running under. That's good; but there's also electronic controls that will automatically brake a train if the crew doesn't work to bring speed into compliance with signal aspect (slowing or stopping) within a short-seconds-long window.

Of course Ferromex doesn't have that. I don't know if the Canukistans have required that, yet - they may be slower to adopt, or they may have decided it's not necessary.

FWIW, Rail Link had some of its own newish power - now that the BNSF has re-purchased the line, and absorbed MRL, the un-updated MRL units can only be used as trailing power. BNSF is taking their time updating things, although I see some of the good Montana yard power has just been repainted in Pumpkin colors.

Check out this cluster F'

All I can say is, it must really suck for the crews to have deal with the people there, if stuff like this is typical.

I'm sure it is.

I started my rail career as a driver-mechanic for an ultrasound rail-testing unit; and we ran from Long Beach to Barstow and then to Needles, California. Contract testing company. In the Port of Long Beach, we'd see similar.

We had a term for that - in that era, mid-1990s, when "quality" was such corporate buzz-speak, we called it, improving the QUALITY of the cluster-copulation.

Two things come to mind: First, this one and the post before it...I'd have liked being an engineer in Mejico and not having to give a pfuk about hitting cars. Just roll on...if you can wake the dispatcher up, let him know, but otherwise, don't stop, we're running late as it is.

So different from anytime an American crew taps a car, has to get supervision and police and all kinds of reports done...just rolling on, that's progress. Or maybe, regress. It's still better.

The other thing: For a long time I kept looking for cheap used cars to buy in Mexico - where there's no road salt and cars are simpler, and anything over 25 years old can be imported. Nissan used to make a version of the Sentra down there, without all the expensive safety crap...it was the standard Mexican taxi after the Beetle got outlawed as a taxi.

New, I think it cost about half what a Sentra cost Stateside. Used? For pennies, surely.

Except...you can't find a good one. Used cars down there are SO beat. NOT like Japanese domestic-market cars - where they're imported to this country in beautiful shape.

Japanese people take care of their cars. You see what Mexican drivers do with THEIR cars...

I never could understand why any driver would stop on the tracks. My closest city has tracks over a major road, and I always stop short when the light is red. And I never cross until I know I can immediately make it to the other side. Isn't this stupid simple?!

So how the hell can someone get stuck exactly in the middle of the tracks?! Anywhere?! When you are crossing, your car has enough momentum to get to the other side. Even if your engine quits at the exact wrong 1/10 second, you can still get across safely.

So how in the world do dipshits get stuck exactly on the tracks?!

Well, you can see it there above. The "crossing" looks like someone just shoveled crushed rock in-between the rails...no tamping, no containment, nothing firm underneath. You've probably driven into soft piles of gravel or loose crushed rock like that. I know I have - you can even get a tractor stuck, even with those huge wheels.

As to why it happens on paved roads...dimbulb drivers. The either aren't paying attention, or their precious time is so important they'll risk their cars and lives to not have to wait three minutes.

Trucks, are a little moar complicated. Many of them get high-sided on the grade. Many of them ignore the warning signs, telling them not to try. Because, now, many of them can't read...can't even spreak Engrish.

They get what they deserve. Their employers get what THEY deserve, to have their equipment destroyed. The railroad...neither crews nor management deserve it, but, it is what it is. It's why we got paid the $Big Buck$.

Stopping on rr x is like having sex in public. They do it for the cheap thrills.

dimbulb drivers
That, in a nutshell, is the reason why people get hit by trains.

.dimbulb drivers
I've done the math on this, and that is the cause of 99.999999% of ALL problems you'll ever see with the operation of ANY motor vehicle on the road.

They get what they deserve.
Yes they do.

Now, all that said, I gotta confession.

It was not too long ago I crossed while the gates were down.

Twice. In the course of a couple weeks. 😲
.....but there was a reason.

The gates were broken, stuck down, lights blinking, bell dinging like a train should be coming, but there was no train.

The road was three Lanes of backed up traffic and there was a RR guy not too far from the crossing who told me it'd been like that for nearly an hour.

It's on a local short line that goes about 10mph when does run.

So instead of making a turn and having to go a mile or more out of my way to get to another crossing, I just went up the sidewalk (was on my bike) on the he left side of the street and crossed around the backside of the crossing gate pole. Then was on my way.

The view of the track in both directions was wide open and I knew there was no train coming.

Had to do the same thing about two weeks later.

Another time I had a similar situation but there were workers at the gate working on it, and there was a cop blocking the street about a block before the crossing making everyone do a turn.

That one woulda been a few miles out of the way, so I told the cop I was gonna ride down there and ask if they could flag me across, and he said that'd be fine with him, so I did and they let me cross.

Again, broken gates, but that was a crossing with about six trains an hour going like 50mph.

Again, that was with the RR guys permission. Had they said no, I wouldn't have crossed. I understand well what being trespassed means.

Other than stuff like that, I would never cross against the gates.

Besides, if there's actually a train coming, I'll typically slow down so I do get stopped by it so I can watch it go by.

I like trains have zero problems with actually waiting for one.

What I don't like, is a RR crossing delay that doesn't include a train. Lol
